Obituary of Patricia M. Palumbo

Patricia M. Palumbo, age 88, of Trumbull, beloved wife of the late Dominick N. Palumbo, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 14, 2023. Born on September 7, 1934 in Winsted, Connecticut, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Genevieve Kempf Collins.

A graduate of the Bassick High School Class of 1952, Pat continued her education at Bridgeport Hospital School of Nursing, graduating in 1955. Pat, a Registered Nurse, was a dedicated employee of Bridgeport Hospital for 38 years. She was the epitome of a professional who took great pride in her work and treated every patient with first class care. She was appointed Oncology Coordinator at the Hospital and developed the hospital's oncology protocols. It is for this role that she received the Fairfield County Excellence Award by the American Cancer Society.

Pat leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, great nieces and nephews and godchildren, who she loved dearly, as well as her "family" of close friends who were like sisters to her and several neighbors, both in CT and Florida, who cared for and treated Pat like she was family.

Pat had a big heart and always thought of others first. She was a caring and generous person always there for the people she loved. She will be truly missed in everyone's lives and remembered for her beautiful heart, soul and smile.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 18, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. directly in St. Theresa Church, 5301 Main St., Trumbull. Interment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, Stratford. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Thursday from 4 – 7 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
