My condolences to the Ciotti Family. Barbara was like a Mom to all of us growing up. I had the pleasure of working with Barbara at Central High School in the kitchen. It was a delight to talk with Her everyday! Rest in peace now Barbara and reunite with Bob in Heaven.

So many good memories of my sweet Auntie Barb. I still remember that feeling of comfort and security being inside the Ciotti home in Bridgeport. I'll never forget Uncle Bob's infectious laugh, Auntie Barb's soft voice and that special bond you could see and feel when you spent time with the two of them together. They were loving, kind, funny and had the most awesome family. I remember those M&M cookies she would bake every year for the family picnic or a holiday gathering, her gentle jokes, our fancy little lady lunches and 2 very fun trips to Vegas.
When I heard that Auntie Barb had passed, one of the first things that came to mind was a Vegas trip I took in the early 2000s. I flew from California to meet up with Auntie Barb, Uncle Bob, Uncle Connie, Marie, Aunt Jenny, and Nanny. Talk about a fun group! One of my favorite memories was us walking through the casino "like elephants, holding trunks" so no one would get side tracked by the slot machines. I told everyone to put their hand on the shoulder of the person in front of them and and look down at the floor, then I lead them to our dinner reservation. We stayed at the Flamingo, went to a show, took a bus to Old Vegas and had the best time. I feel blessed that at one point in my life I was part of that family and we were all able to share that time together.
Other sweet memories that I will always hold dear are those "little lady" lunches with Auntie Barb and my Nanny. I took pleasure in listening to their stories as they reminisced of days past and especially loved how they referred to each other as "sister" during all their conversations (even when they spoke daily on the phone). And every lunch would always end with the two of them 'arguing' who would be picking up the bill. They each tried being sneaky, slipping the card to the waiter and insisting it's their treat. I absolutely adored those moments and will cherish these memories forever. It was heartwarming being able to witness Nanny with her sister b/c they shared such a special relationship. My heat hurts knowing Auntie Barb is no longer in this world but I find it comforting envisioning that she is with others that have passed before her - Uncle Bob, Bobby Jr, Krista, her brothers, sister, and so many others she traveled through life with.
To my Ciotti cousins - Barbara Jean, Beverly, Beth Ann and Bernadette, all of Auntie Barb's grandkids and great grandkids, my deepest condolences for this tremendous loss, you are all in my thoughts. And to my Nanny, my heart breaks for you b/c I know how very precious that bond was with your sister. I am profoundly sorry for your loss. Love to each and every one of you.
All my best,
Betsy Rafail xo

Aunt Barb & Uncle Bob… Two of my Favorite people to be around.
I grew up in the same house on Benham Ave in Bridgeport where Aunt Barb lived and I remember when
She and Uncle Bob were dating prior to getting married…
I have a Special memory of Uncle Bob coming over and parking his Blue & White 1957 Chevy Impala Belair in the driveway.
As a young boy who was at an age where I was interested in Cars & getting my license… How could I Not be impressed by a 1957 Chevy…
Aunt Barb was standing in the driveway waiting for Him and when he got out of the car they talked for a few moment’s and laughed… Then Aunt Barb took off running up the driveway full speed towards the garage up on the hill behind the house.
She was laughing and Uncle Bob took off trying to catch her… I stood next to his car watching as Aunt Barb ran along the left side of the garage and then across the back behind the garage…
She was Actually pretty quick on her feet and I don’t know if Uncle Bob would have caught her had it not been for the fence at the end of the yard that prevented her from running any further… When Uncle Bob did catch her, they were laughing, and he hugged Aunt Barb and they Kissed… I was too young at the time to know what Love was, but I remember looking at them and I knew it was something Special.
That memory has stayed with me my entire life and now that I am older, I understand how they felt about each other on that day so many years ago… I also remember seeing them together over the years attending the Bennett Family Picnics / or Parties / Weddings and other family events, and the kindness & caring affection they gave each other… It would always make me reflect
back to the day He chased Her in the yard… What I saw was a wonderful loving relationship that few people are lucky to experience.
When my father died, and I moved in to live with my mother for several years I got to spend time with Uncle Bob / Aunt Barb
and My Mother. We would take day trips to Mohegan Sun and it was Always a fun time being with them, even if we Didn’t have the best of luck on the Slot Machines while we were there… I Enjoyed being with the Three of them & I am So Lucky
I got the chance to spend time with them & will cherish all those memories for the rest of my life.
My heart hurts and it is sad that I will not physically see Aunt Barb in this life again…
But I have had a good Cry… And all the Happy Memories of Aunt Barb & Uncle Bob
fill my heart Happiness and things will be okay.
To My Ciotti Cousins – Barbara Jean – Beth Ann – Beverly – Bernadette
I Love You All – Rody Jr.
