After meeting your mom Erin, when we both attended UCONN, my fondest memory is when I looked up from the softball field after I transferred to Fairfield U, and saw your mom in the stands. After the game she said "I think your hit started a rally. But just too bad you couldn't have batted it instead to right field." She was one smart cookie about baseball! Until then - it didn't cross my mind!
Once, I recall visiting you and her at your home in Trumbull. When Ann learned I also enjoyed antiques, she would take me around her house. I remember her showing me her Quimper pottery and saying, "I love this, but what am I ever going to do with this?" We would laugh and both knew that was besides the point!
I have great memories of seeing you all in Boothbay, and meeting at Robinson's for lobster! I recall how your mom and dad just loved Maine, and how your mom would just smile and smile.
This is how I will always remember your mom. Smiling that effusive smile, that twinkle in her eye, the way she enjoyed her family, and sharing in a few of her many interests. I will always feel lucky and blessed to have known her.
