I just saw the wonderful tribute to Lee in this weeks STRATFORD STAR. Pet Super Bowl had a super owner. He was a man whom it was a pleasure to know, a very kind man with such integrity and always a welcoming smile. My heart is filled with sadness for you, his family. Treasure your memories of Lee and may they bring happiness to you. He made the world a better place and will be very much missed by all of us who were fortunate to have known him.

I was so very sorry to hear about Lee's passing, especially as I was out of state that week and did not learn about it until after his memorial service. Like many of his other friends, I saw him at the store every week and those few minutes were invariably some of the brightest moments, thanks to his keen wit, sense of humor, and his obvious love for his faith, his family, and his customers. I will miss him very, very much. In fact, even now I already do. I want to quote a tribute that was often made by one of my spiritual leaders many years ago, whenever one of our faith community left us. He would say this: "Lee still lives among us in the many acts of goodness that he performed while he walked among us, the living, and in the human hearts that cherish his memory. May the goodness of his earthly life continue to abide with us as a lasting benediction."

when I think of lee the words that come to my mind to describe this gentleman are kind,generous,helpful,knowlegable. and a man of integrity. Lee has been a part of my life since I started shopping in his store in late 1999. I quickly came to look forward to my weekly trips because of him. He was intelligent and insightful, an engaging conversationalist who deftly navigated any topic. He was also a good businessman, providing exceptional customer service that made you feel like you were shopping in an old general store -- he remembered your name, what pets you had, what you liked to buy for them, and he was always willing to accommodate special orders. Because of him, I have been able to provide the best of everything to my guinea pigs throughout the last 17 years. But above all else, he was a genuinely kind and decent man. You would be hard pressed to find a kinder heart. I am heartsick over his loss and will deeply miss having him in my life. My weeks will be less bright for not having him in them. Rest in peace, my dear sweet friend. May the angels celebrate the joy of your company, and comfort the broken hearts of your family.
