Obituary of Gordon Michaud

Gordon (Fred) Michaud, age 65, beloved husband and best friend for 45 years of Veretta Gallick Michaud of Stratford, died suddenly on Thursday, May 20, 2004 in Bridgeport Hospital. Born in Fort Fairfield, Maine, Fred was a veteran of the U. S. Marine Corps, a retired Stratford firefighter and an employee of Standard Oil. Fred loved Nascar, Golf, Vermont, traveling, spoiling his grandchildren and his dog, Oliver.

Along with his wife, he is survived by his daughters and their spouses, Patti and Chris Iannucci of Shelton and Debbie & Marc Feldmeier of Oxford, who showered him daily with love and devotion. He was the proudest Poppy of five grandchildren, Christian and Caitlin Iannucci, Ryan and Ashley Vaughn and Dylan Feldmeier. Freds life revolved around his family. He is also survived by his siblings, Barbara & Bunny Bird, Alice and Jack Connors, John & Sharon Michaud, Kay and Gerry DiGiacamo and Jim Michaud. He leaves behind his best friends, Frank & Maryanne Gallick and numerous friends and relatives who will always remember Fred for his generosity, zest for life, enormous laugh and his ability to turn a regular day into a celebration.

He was pre-deceased by his parents, Gordon and Doris Kiernan Michaud and his niece, Robin Bird. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Funeral services will take place on Monday, May 24, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Grace Church, Stratford for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will follow in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery, Derby. Friends may call on Sunday from 3-7 p.m. 

In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions to the family to establish scholarship funds for Shelton and St. Joseph High Schools in Freds memory. Checks may be made payable to Mrs. Veretta Michaud
