Obituary of Carol Ann Franco

Carol Ann Gallo Franco, of Bridgeport, a retired office manager, died on Saturday, April 9, 2005, in St. Vincent Medical Center surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. Born and raised in Bridgeport, she was a daughter of Maria Grace Cascone Gallo of Bridgeport, and the late Salvatore Gallo. In 1962, she was named Miss Grand Carnivale and along with her sister Connie, they formerly professionally danced modern jazz ballet and were known as the Gallo Sisters. Carol Ann formerly lived in Port Washington, Long Island, where she and her family owned and operated a restaurant.

In addition to her mother, survivors include her devoted family, a son, Thomas Franco of Miami, FL, a daughter, Marissa Franco Ford and her husband Rick of Stratford, a brother, Thomas Gallo and his wife Ann of Lake Worth, FL, a sister, Connie Emond and her husband Donald of Trumbull, nieces and nephews, Scott Emond, Charisse and Robert Ventresca, Audra and William DeFazio, Edward A. Gallo and Jeffrey T. Gallo, great nieces and nephews, Madison, Aidan and MacKenna, special cousins, Robert Leonetti and his wife Marcia and Steve Leonetti, and she also leaves many additional aunts, uncles and cousins. 

Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, April 12, 2005 at 8 AM from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 9 AM in St. Margaret's Shrine, Bridgeport, for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery Mausoleum, Trumbull. Friends may call on Monday from 4-8 p.m.
