Obituary of Gilbert McKay

Retired Merchant Marine Officer Gilbert McKay, age 86, of Trumbull, died on Thursday, November 15, 2007 in St. Vincent Medical Center. Born in Lynn, MA on January 21, 1921, he was a son of the late Gilbert and Agnus Mason McKay. Before his retirement he was an officer in the Merchant Marines for 40 years, where he served during World War II and had two tours of duty during the Vietnam War. Survivors include his wife, Nancy ODonnell McKay, a son Kevin McKay of Trumbull, a daughter, Eujanie Wheeler and her husband Lawrence of Cape Coral, Florida, a brother, Edward McKay and a sister Agnes Godett, both of Lynn, MA and a granddaughter, Katlyn Wheeler. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, November 20, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 11:00 a.m. in St. Theresa Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.
