Obituary of Virginia A. McGrath

Resident of Shelton Virginia Ginnie Taulty McGrath, age 75, of Huntington, died on Sunday, August 13, 2006 in Griffin Hospital. Born in Bridgeport on July 7, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Frederick and Margaret Ellsworth Taulty. After graduating from Lauralton Hall, Ginnie became a secretary for the United Illuminating Co. and married Carroll F. McGrath on November 5, 1955. In 1961, Ginnie left the U.I. Company to begin her most important role as mother and homemaker. In 1993, she and Carroll moved to Oronoque Village, Stratford. They learned to play golf, a sport which they both came to love. At Oronoque, Ginnie was involved with many clubs and activities, such as SAC, Fun Seekers and the Garden Club. In addition to her beloved husband of 50 years, Carroll McGrath, survivors include a son, Kevin McGrath and his wife, Margaret of Huntington, a daughter, Kimberly Gustafson and her husband, Marc of Derby, a sister, Elizabeth Hollywood of Texas, a sister-in-law, Sister Ellen McGrath, R.D.C. of White Plains, NY, four grandchildren, Kira and Eric Gustafson and Rose and James McGrath and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral Information Friends are invited to meet directly in St. Lawrence Church, 505 Shelton Ave., Shelton on Thursday, August 17, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Rose Cemetery, Newtown. Family and friends may call on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
