Obituary of Edward McCarthy

Resident of Easton Edward McCarthy, age 80, of Easton, beloved husband of the late Margaret Sheehan McCarthy, died peacefully on Friday, September 30, 2011 at home with his loving family by his side after a courageous battle with mesothelioma. Born on January 7, 1931 in Bronx, New York, he was a son of the late Timothy and Louise Clark McCarthy. Edward was a U.S. Army veteran and a retired employee of the New York City Sanitation Department. In addition to his wife, he was pre-deceased by a son, Kevin McCarthy, who recently passed away two months ago, two brothers, George and Timothy McCarthy and a sister Eleanor Accomando. He was a loving father and grandfather who will be deeply missed. Survivors include two loving children, Edward McCarthy Jr. and his wife Edie of Wading River, NY and Kerry DeLeon and her husband John of Easton, four cherished granddaughters, Brandi, Sabrina, twins Brooke and Nicole, two brothers, Howard and James McCarthy, two sisters, Frances and Dorothy McCarthy, all of Bronx, NY and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Information Friends are invited to meet directly in St. Rose of Lima Church, 46 Church Hill Rd., Newtown on Thursday, October 6, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with military honors will follow in Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton, Long Island, NY. Family and friends may call on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. at The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
