Obituary
Obituary of Caroline Saad Mayo
Devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother
Caroline Saad Mayo, age 76, of Stratford, beloved life partner of William J. Saad Sr., entered into heaven on Saturday, August 11, 2012 at Yale New Haven Hospital with her loving family by her side. Born in Bridgeport on October 15, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Mary Cohen Lazarkiewicz. A dedicated, long time employee of Stop & Shop, Caroline loved people and could be found at any given moment: talking to both familiar and unknown faces, passing out her spare change, sticks of gum or favorite candies, and praying for anyone who needed a prayer. She was a passionate Yankee fan, who cheered her pinstripe boys on during every game and always referred to the Yankees as Gods team. She was the embodiment of gift giving and was always thinking of others and never of herself. Caroline loved sewing, crocheting, gardening and animals. She loved the casino and one of her favorite places was Vegas. She had a wonderful sense of humor, an infectious laugh and a strong spirit that shined through in everything she did. But above all, she was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who cared very deeply for her family. She called each family member daily to make sure everyone got home safely. Her unconditional love, devotion and family values will continue to live on through her family. She was pre-deceased by her daughter, MaryJane Saad and a brother, Walter Lazarkiewicz. In addition to her life partner, William, survivors include five loving children: William J. Saad Jr. and his wife Maria of Oxford, Rosemary Salerno and her husband Louis of Stratford, Caroline Guiles and her husband Joseph of Prospect, Frank Saad and his wife Lori-Lynn of Stratford and Ruth Burke and her partner James Quirk of Stratford; 16 cherished grandchildren: Keith Saad, Billy Saad III, Adrienne Stepkoski, Naomi Ribeiro, Christina Saad, Nicholas DaPaz, Joshua Guiles, Jacqueline DeLaRosa, Angela Salerno, Matthew Burke, Brian Salerno, Kyle Burke, Sabrina Saad, Jessica Saad, Kayla Quirk and Frank Saad II; and seven adored great grandchildren: Mackenzie, Aubrie, Cody, Tyler, Olivia, Connor & Collin and several nieces and nephews.
