Obituary of Ralph Fortuna

U. S. Navy Veteran Ralph Fortuna, age 89, of Sarasota, Florida and formerly of Bridgeport, a retired employee of Bridgeport Post Publishing, died on Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at his residence. Born in Bridgeport on May 5, 1919, he was a son of the late Antonio and Theresa Sciarretta Fortuna. He was a U. S. Navy veteran of World War II and a member of the V. F.W. of Stratford. He was pre-deceased by his wife, Shirley Bond Fortuna and his daughter, Nancy Fortuna. Survivors include two daughters, Lorraine Macisco and her husband Raymond of Sarasota, FL and Theresa Melhouse of Stratford, two sisters, Lena Liptak of Bridgeport and Mary Martone of Monroe, a sister-in-law, Mary Fortuna of Stratford, three grandchildren, Vanessa Melhouse, Holly Melhouse and David Reed, a great grandson Shane and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at 9:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in St. Ambrose Church, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with full military honors will follow in Lakeview Cemetery.
