Obituary of Dorothy M. Maruszak

Resident of Bridgeport Dorothy M. Timko Maruszak age 98, of Bridgeport, beloved wife of 64 years to the late Alexander Maruszak, died on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 in Bridgeport Hospital. Born in Bridgeport on May 25, 1913, she was a daughter of the late Joseph W. and Anna I. Timko and was a lifelong resident of Bridgeport. Dorothy was a volunteer at St. Andrews Church and the Bethany Senior Center. She enjoyed traveling and reading, was an avid baseball fan and loved the New York Yankees. As a teenager, she traveled with her uncle who was a professional baseball player who pitched for the Boston Red Sox. She was a floor supervisor at General Electric during World War II and later was employed at Singer Corporation. Survivors include two sons, Bruce Maruszak of Bridgeport and Allan Maruszak and his wife Joann of Milford, three granddaughters, Megan Maruszak of IN, Brooke Maruszak of Milford and Melissa Biron and her husband Zak of NH, a great grandson, Jacob Biron, as well as her beloved nieces Lana Gerwien and Rita Soares. She was predeceased by a brother, William Timko and a sister, Vera Timko. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at 10 a.m. directly in St. Andrew Church, 435 Anton St., Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be private. Friends may call on Monday from 3-7 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
