Obituary of Joseph V. Lombardo

Bridgeport Resident Joseph V. Lombardo, age 70, of Bridgeport, died peacefully on Saturday October 18, 2008 in Bridgeport Hospital. Born in Bridgeport on July 1, 1938, he was a son of the late Joseph A. and Vincenza Marrone Lombardo. Joseph was a retired employee of the City of Bridgeport, with 20 years of service and was also a retired barber. He was a graduate and President of the Harding High School Class of 1957. An avid sportsman Joe was the captain of the 1957 Harding football team which went undefeated. A true horse enthusiast he formerly owned and followed horses and horse races. Survivors include three loving children, Joseph A. Lombardo and his wife Janice of Monroe, Larene Paolini and her husband Kenneth of Trumbull, Wendy Lombardo of Milford and their mother, Mary Lombardo Fiscella of Fairfield, three brothers, Vincent Lombardo and his wife Elaine of Stratford, Lawrence Lombardo of New Haven and Anthony Lombardo and his wife Donna of Bridgeport, five cherished grandchildren, Carly and Joseph Lombardo and Haley, Tyler and Brandon Paolini, two aunts, Mary Spetrino and Anna Lanese both of Trumbull and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff of Bridgeport Manor for all of the care and compassion given during their time of need. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Tuesday October, 21, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 11:00 a.m. in St. Theresa Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Monday from 4-8 p.m.
