Obituary of Rose Miller Foley

Upon Eagles Wings, Rose Tarantino Miller -Foley, age 48, of Fairfield, died on Saturday morning, May 22, 2004 at Bridgeport Hospital, leaving behind two devoted daughters, Stacey Miller and Jillian Miller, both of Fairfield. In addition to her daughters, she is survived by her parents, Generoso and Angela Maria Silano Tarantino; a sister, Mary Ruszkowski, and her husband Stan of Trumbull; brothers Gino Tarantino, and his wife Sue, and Ralph Tarantino, all of Trumbull.; a sister-in-law, Laura Foley of Weston, and many nieces and nephews. Rose was predeceased by her brother, Anthony Tarantino, and her sister, Caroline Conlin.

Rose fought a tremendous battle of life and is now in a better place. She survived cancer in 1989 by being one of the first recipients of a bone marrow transplant and she survived another life threatening disease in December of 2001. Her bravery and strength did not go unnoticed. Rose was the recipient of Bridgeport Hospitals 2003 Albin Centers Everyday Hero award, proving to others what her family already knew, that she fought like a hero and did so until her departure. Rose was devoted to her family and friends. In their eyes she will forever be remembered as a hero. 

Friends are invited to meet on Tuesday, May 25, 2004 at 9:30 a.m. DIRECTLY in Our Lady of the Assumption Church 545 Stratfield Rd., Fairfield. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call on Monday, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
