Obituary of Joseph Martone
Joseph Martone passed away peacefully at the age of 87 in his home in Fort Lauderdale on December 23, 2024, with his daughter and son-in-law Mary and Alan Hunte and his best friend and mother to his children Gladys Martone by his side. Joseph faced a long battle with Parkinson's disease, meeting every challenge with courage and tenacity. Up to the end he continued with physical and speech therapy, knowing it would keep him strong and capable. We'd like to thank all the wonderful therapists that worked with dad through the years.
Born in New Haven, CT, Joseph is predeceased by his parents Carmen Martone and Mary Picone Martone as well as his brothers Henry Martone and Robert Martone.
Joseph is survived by his four devoted children, whom he loved dearly, Mary Hunte and her husband Alan, Carolyn Del Medico and her husband Armand, Craig Martone and Matthew Martone: thirteen cherished grandchildren, Katherine and James Sullivan, Christian and Patty Mrozek, Ryan Mrozek and Sarah Giampa, Marc Mrozek and Olivia Capece, Andrew and Camelia Del Medico, Cayleigh McDonald, Philip Martone, Jane Martone, Max Muftic, Olivia Martone, Shaun and Sarah Hunte (Kenley, Jameson, Royce) Kevin Hunte (Morgan, Tristan and Devin) and Bryan Hunte, his brothers, Anthony Martone (Elaine), Carmen Martone, his sister, Teresa Candido (Gaetano), Gladys Martone and Edward Touhey, James Sansone and Brenda Friedler.
Joseph was the cofounder of Mr. Joseph's Salon which later became Headliners Salon, a family legacy. He was an icon in business in the town of Trumbull, CT. He loved his craft and the relationships he made through more than fifty years in the business which still thrives in Westport today.
Joseph loved all that life had to offer, Holidays with his family, Broadway Shows, Music Concerts and traveling the world. He passed his holiday traditions as well as his love for music and travel down to his children who still enjoy this with fond memories of their Dad. Joseph loved to entertain and was always the life of the party. As a kind and gracious man, he will be missed by his many friends he developed through the years.
