I was very fortunate to have Ernie as my brother-in-law. He was very kind & friendly. He was helpful and all around good company. I was there when he married my sister, Sue, and when his kids, Michele & Ron, were born. He was a very good father and wonderful husband. He also helped me when we buried my husband, Dave, and for that I'm forever grateful. I will miss him, but I have many fond memories. To my sister, Sue, and Michele & Ron, you're all in my thoughts & prayers.

I grew up across the street from the Santos – Ronnie and Michele were great friends and Susan used to watch us a lot when we played and swam in the pool. Mr. Santo “Ernie” was always on the go, and I remember him as a hard worker. Sometimes Ronnie and I would help him do some little masonry work at times – I remember him always taking the time and explaining how to mix, prepare, and build with bricks, even though we were so young. I thought to myself “I got this” – “Yea no lol” Years later I needed to lay some brick at my house – I tried to remember what he taught me, being so long ago --- It was a disaster!! He made it look so easy back then. I guess where I am going with this, is that Ernie was probably more of an artist than the term “bricklayer” in my opinion, he used to point out impressive buildings he used to work on and build. – I have these and other fond memories of Ernie. (By the way, It was really cool playing on the scaffolding he set up, to work on the house, for us kids to use as a jungle gym when we were not supervised lol)
My sincere condolences to your beautiful family,
David Baldino
