Obituary of Jaime Moreno Goncalves

Jaime Moreno Gonçalves, age 77, of Shelton and Antigo, Sarraquinhos, Portugal, beloved husband of the late Clementina Mendes Valdegas Gonçalves, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 9, 2024 in his home country of Portugal.

Born on November 25,1947 in Antigo, Sarraquinhos, Portugal, he was the son of the late Antonio Goncalves Lage and Rosa Moreno Gomes.

Jaime was a hard-working man and provided nothing but the best for his family.

Nothing made him happier than being with family. His passion for singing and dancing often made gatherings more like a party.

He was a loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. The values he instilled will forever live in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his six loving children, Nelson Moreno and his wife Anne, Manuel Moreno and his wife Laura, Joaquina Fernandes and her husband Orlando, Maria Rotunno and her husband Jason, all of Trumbull, Natividade Gomes and her husband Miguel of Shelton and Jaime Moreno and his wife Chanté of Trumbull. Survivors also include nine cherished grandchildren, Nick Moreno, Olivia and Jonathon Moreno, Orlando Fernandes, Gabriela Gomes, Jason and Lucas Rotunno, and Catalina and Vienna Moreno, an adored great granddaughter, Cali Moreno, a sister Maria Lucia Gomes Lage of Portugal, a brother-in-law Agostinho Valdegas and his wife Natividade, niece, Elizabeth Ramos, a nephew Domingos Valdegas, as well as several additional family members in the U.S., Australia and Portugal. He was predeceased by a sister Joaquina Gomes Lage.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, December 16, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Fatima Church, 429 Huntington Rd., Bridgeport. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Monday morning from 9:00 am – 10:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
