Obituary of John A. DiPallo

John A. DiPallo, age 86, of Shelton passed away peacefully on Friday, December 6, 2024 at Apple Rehab Shelton Lakes. He was the beloved husband of Gilda (Fedele) DiPallo. Born in Bridgeport on January 17, 1938 he was the son of the late Phillip and Margie (Scrafani) DiPallo Rossi.  John was a proud U.S. Army veteran having served his country honorably. He later began a long career with UPS in a supervisory role that spanned over 35 years before his retirement and building many friendships along the way. Being fortunate to retire at the age of 57, John and Gilda became snowbirds and spent half the year at the Villages in Florida. John was an avid golfer and was able to enjoy playing 3 times a week with others that shared a similar interest. He was a jack of all trades and had the ability to fix nearly anything when called upon by friends and family. He was also a world-wide traveler and looked forward to exotic trips or cruises with his wife. A loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend of many. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his beloved wife Gilda of 64 years, other survivors include his devoted sons, Christopher DiPallo of Trumbull and Jeffrey DiPallo of Colorado, his adored grandchildren, Lucca and Domineco DiPallo, his former daughter-in-law, Hillary Martin of Colorado, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. The family would like to extend a very special thank you to family members Joanna Breunig and Barbara Ostrosky, both of Shelton, and the caregivers at The Keys, for their kindness, care, compassion and assistance they have provided during this difficult time.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, December 13, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Lawrence Church, 505 Shelton Ave., Shelton. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may greet the family on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
