Obituary of George P. Lisi

U.S. Army Veteran of World War II George P. Lisi Sr., age 84, of Stratford, beloved husband of Frances Mary Cavallaro Lisi, died peacefully on Thursday, June 2, 2011 in the loving care of his family. Born in Bridgeport on November 2, 1926, he was a son of the late Sebastiano and Mary Scinto Lisi. In his youth, George proudly served his country on the Pacific front in Okinawa during World War II. As a retired building contractor and construction supervisor for Bargas Construction, Georges craftsmanship, the memorials of his lifes work, can be seen throughout Connecticut. In addition to his devotion to Frances, his wife of 63 years, survivors include four children, Philip G. Lisi and his wife Christine of Stratford, Diana G. Lisi of Stratford, Mary G. Lisi of Derby and George P. Lisi Jr. and his wife Sueanne of Stratford, a sister, Rosalie Meyer and her husband William of Stratford, six grandchildren, Jessica Staley, Lauren Lisi, George P. Lisi III, Nicholas Lisi, Jon Lisi, and Michele Lisi and Michael McPadden and three great grandchildren, Jeffrey, Ryan and Sophia. He was pre-deceased by a brother, Sebastiano Sam Lisi Jr. and three sisters, Theresa Zanchetti, Lillian Luongo and Anna Martin. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. A genuine family man and much beloved figure, George enjoyed all outdoor activities, from hunting to gardening, but it was golf that was his true passion. A member of The Whitney Farms Mens Club, George was very fond of his golf buddies. Kind hearted and friendly in nature, George liked socializing and the Trumbull Center Coffee Club was his favorite daily gathering. He will be missed. The family would like to thank to Masonicare Home Hospice for their support. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in St. Mark Church, Stratford for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with military honors will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call on Monday from 4-8 p.m.
