Obituary of John P. Pyrek-Bennett

John P. Pyrek-Bennett, age 55, of Monroe passed away peacefully on Monday, October 14, 2024 surrounded by his family at St. Vincent's Medical Center, Bridgeport. He was the beloved husband of Kelliann (Golden) Bennett. Born in Waterbury on June 10, 1969 he was the son of the late Donald F. Pyrek and Barbara Lamonica Bennett.

John had been employed by Eversource for over 25 years, where he worked as a chief distribution mechanic. He has also accumulated over 30 years of service to the community, as the Assistant Chief with Glenbrook Fire Department in Stamford and a lifetime member of the Monroe Volunteer Fire Department. John was passionate about his yard and meticulous in the care of tending to the lawn and gardens. He was a true "family man" in every sense of the word. His dedication to his family and his children was his priority and he was extremely proud of all their accomplishments. A loving and devoted son, husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin and loyal friend of many. His loss will be felt deeply by the vast number of friends whose lives he touched during his lifetime.

In addition to his beloved wife Kelliann of nearly 29 years, other survivors include his adored children, Jacqueline Pyrek-Bennett, Jessica Pyrek-Bennett and John Pyrek-Bennett, his brothers, Darren Bennett and Joseph Bennett and his wife Hiyas, David Taylor and his wife Tonya, as well as his extended family including his maternal parents, Judith Seitzer and the late James Seitzer, siblings, Julie Lauer and her husband Larry, Michael "Buzz" Mikuski and Joseph Mikuski and his wife Diane, his mother-in-law, Joy Golden, as well as many nieces and nephews, too numerous to mention. He was predeceased by his brothers, Donald Pyrek-Bennett and Shannon Bennett and his father-in-law, Joseph Golden.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 21, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Jude Church, 707 Monroe Tpke., Monroe. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Friends may greet the family on Sunday from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Monroe Volunteer Fire Department, 18 Shelton Road, Monroe, CT 06468.
