Obituary of Robin Lea Butz

Robin Lea Guidotti Butz, age 62, of Stratford, beloved wife of John R. Butz and devoted mother of Ethan R. Butz, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 13, 2024, with her loving family by her side. Born in Bridgeport on December 27, 1961, she was the daughter of the late Mildred Hancock Guidotti and Robert J. Guidotti and his wife Sandra J. Guidotti. Robin and John were married on November 14, 1987, at Nichols United Methodist Church in Trumbull. A graduate of Roger Ludlow High School class of 1980, Robin was a Digital Marketing Associate for Market Data Retrieval Co., for 28 years before her retirement. Robin was a sweet, loving, and dedicated wife, mother, aunt, and great-aunt. The rock of the family, the unconditional love, advice, and support Robin gave will forever live in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

In her younger years, Robin developed a love for the outdoors on hunting trips with her dad and their black labrador retriever, Buck. As an adult, her love for the outdoors continued with rides in the wilderness, and she could often be found reading outside under a shady tree. Robin was known for her love of animals and one of her favorite pastimes of visiting Walt Disney World with her family and her Florida family. She rescued many cats and dogs throughout her life and her most recent rescues were lovingly named Tiger Lily, Mary Poppins, Tinkerbell, and Dawson Pluto. One of Robin's greatest joys in life was being a mother to her son, Ethan, her most favorite baritone marching band member and Walt Disney World travel buddy.

In addition to her beloved husband of 37 years, John, survivors include her cherished and adored son, Ethan Rodrigo Butz; a brother, Wesley Cooper; sisters, Laura Corbett (Peter), Rose Hunt (Ron); brother-in-law, George W. Butz (Helen); sisters-in-law, Judy A. Bierwirth, Martha M. Butz, Deborah Aubin and Barbara Butz, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, who Robin loved. She was predeceased by her brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law, Ronald P. Butz, David C. Butz, Jerry T. Butz and his wife Carol, and Donald J. Bierwirth.

Funeral services will take place on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. Interment will follow in Nichols Village Cemetery, Trumbull. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Friday from 4 – 7 p.m. in the funeral home. It was Robin's wish that any memorial tributes be made to support her son in his future. Memorial contributions may be made to a college education fund for Ethan. Checks may be made payable to John R. Butz and sent in care of Abriola Parkview Funeral Home. To leave an online condolence please visit www.abriola.com.
