Obituary of Antoinette A. Zingmond

Antoinette “Nettie” (Bocchiere) Rousso Zingmond, age 85, of Shelton and formerly of Trumbull passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 29, 2024, at Bridgeport Hospital with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Erwin Zingmond, M.D., and the late George Peter Rousso.  Born in Bridgeport on July 17, 1939, she was the daughter of the late John J. and Angela (Lauretta) Bocchiere. Antoinette graduated with a Nursing Degree from St. Vincent’s School of Nursing and went on to earn her Associate’s Degree from Charter Oak College.  She worked as a Registered Nurse at Bridgeport Hospital, St. Vincent’s Medical Center, and The Jewish Home for the Elderly. She was a case manager for the Southwestern CT Agency on Aging and was a consultant for Child’s World Academy. She was very dedicated to helping others, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family, which she referred to as the center of her life.

 

She is survived by her loving children, Peter John Rousso and his wife Rachelle, John George Rousso and his wife Janice, and Laura Janine Blake and her husband William, all of Trumbull, her cherished grandchildren; Joseph Rousso and his wife Ashley, Jenna Rousso, Peter Rousso III and his fiancée Christina Ricitelli, John Rousso, Nicholas Rousso and his wife Sydney, Victoria Blake, George Blake and Matthew Blake, as well as her adored great grandson, Carmine J. Rousso and special niece and nephew, Christina Salvio and Carl Salvio and his wife Jeanie. In addition to her parents and late husbands, she was predeceased by her brother, John Bocchiere Jr.

 

Friends and relatives may attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, October 4, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. directly in St. Lawrence Church, 505 Shelton Ave., Shelton. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Nettie’s memory may be made to either St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 www.stjude.org or to Swim Across the Sound, St. Vincent’s Medical Center Foundation, 2800 Main St., Bridgeport, CT 06606, www.swimacrossthesound.org.
