Obituary of Francis C. Boyle Jr.

Francis C. Boyle, Jr., 74, of Trumbull, passed into the arms of his heavenly Father on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at St. Vincent’s Medical Center, after a heroic battle with cancer.

Frank leaves behind his best friend and loving wife of 52 years, Barbara; daughter Melissa of Worcester, MA; son Sean and his wife Bethany of Middletown; son Colin and his wife Molly of Glastonbury; beloved grandsons Tyler and Adam; and devoted dogs Rudy and Annabelle. He is also survived by his sisters Kerrie; Coleen and her husband Randy; Marita and her husband Jim; sister-in-law Linda Kristie and her husband Jim; seven nieces and nephews; four great-nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.

Loving son of the late Francis C. and Frances P. Boyle, Frank was born on February 11, 1950 at Astoria General Hospital in Queens, NY. He spent his childhood in Trumbull, where he met Barbara at St. Joseph’s High School. He graduated from Fairfield University in 1972 and earned his Master of Business Administration from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. After working in public accounting at Ernst and Young, Frank launched a long career at Barnes Group Inc. in Bristol in 1978. He retired from his position as Vice President of Finance and Chief Accounting Officer in 2010, and devoted his retirement years to a second career on the golf course. Frank was in his happy place while cruising around Dataw Island, SC in his golf cart, with the sun shining and the breeze on his face.

Frank’s family was his greatest joy and top priority. His pride in his children and grandchildren was boundless and they thrived because of his love and support. Frank was always his children’s go-to handyman, as he was known for his ability to fix anything, and he did so with his endless love and generous spirit. He was the advice-giver, the planner, the storyteller, and the comedian to all who knew and loved him. He also loved his dogs, traveling the world on many adventures with Barbara, and vacations at Disney World with his kids and grandkids. Frank found great strength in his Catholic faith and was a devoted member of St. Catherine of Siena Parish in Trumbull.

Visitation will be held on Thursday Sept. 26th from 4-7 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday Sept. 27th at 11:00 a.m. in St. Catherine of Siena Parish, 220 Shelton Road, Trumbull. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.
