Obituary of Thomas J. Ligouri
Thomas J. Ligouri, age 74, of Southbury, a retired custodian for Middlegate School in Newtown and the former owner and operator of Ligouris Texaco, Stepney, died on Thursday, July 12, 2007 in Connecticut Hospice, Branford. Born in Bridgeport on February 8, 1933, he was a son of the late James and Catherine Ligouri. A U. S. Army veteran, he was a former resident of Newtown for 41 years. Mr. Ligouri enjoyed working in his yard, traveling and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his devoted wife and best friend of 50 years, Beverly Bosselait Ligouri, three children, Cheryl Moore and her husband Karl of Newtown, Charlene Yacovelli and her husband Vincent of Oxford and Del Ligouri and his wife Tammi of Newtown, four brothers, Armando Ligouri of New Port Richey , FL, Raymond Ligouri of Monroe, George Ligouri of Trumbull and John Ligouri of Shelton, a sister, Madeline Soules of Monroe, five grandchildren, Nicole and Kayla Moore, Ellen and Joe Yacovelli and Alicia Rose Ligouri as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was pre-deceased by a son, Thomas J. Ligouri II, four brothers, Joseph, Louis, James and Anthony Ligouri and a sister, Rose Schettino.
Funeral services will take place on Monday, July 16, 2007 at 9:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in St. Rose of Lima Church, Newtown, for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Newtown. Friends may call on Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m.
