Obituary of Marcia B. Guittard

Marcia B. (Logan) Guittard, age 72, of Stratford passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 20, 2024 at Bridgeport Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Norman D. Guittard. Born in Milford, CT on March 4, 1952, she was the daughter of the late David Logan. Mrs. Guittard had earned a bachelor’s degree in education and spent the first part of her career as a school teacher. Marcia was an expert seamstress and an avid gardener. She was meticulous in the care and upkeep of her yard and gardens and she was proud to have been recognized with the Stratford Beautification Award in 2022. She was an animal lover and her 18-year-old poodle Coquette will miss Marcia greatly. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her beloved husband Norman of 22 years, other survivors include her stepson, James Guittard and his wife Toni of Shelton, her step grandchildren, Brandon Guittard of Milford and Nicole Guittard of Tampa, FL, her sister-in-law, Dorothy Otter of Barefoot Bay, FL and her brother-in-law, Larry Guittard and his wife Janet of Freeport, Long Island. She was also honored to have been referred to as the “informally adopted” grandmother of twins Evita and Sarah Shein, also of Stratford, CT.
