Obituary of Pearl L. Walsh

Pearl Lois Mongeluzzo Walsh, age 91, a longtime resident of Shelton, CT, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at Mozaic Senior Living surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of the late Andre J. Walsh. Pearl was born in Malaga, NJ, the daughter of the late Raffaele and Angiolina (Scarcelli) Mongeluzzo.

Before living in Shelton, Pearl resided in Newark, Delaware. She was an active member of the Italian American Club and worked as an Administrative Assistant for many businesses, including the University of Delaware Department of Civil Engineering and the University Library. While in Connecticut, Pearl worked as an Administrative Assistant for the Perkin Elmer Company in Human Resources, Sacred Heart University Chaplain's Office, the Wolverine Copper Tubing Company, and retired from International Scientific Communications Company. She also held Real Estate and Motorcycle licenses. Pearl actively supported her brother-in-law, Father Paul Walsh, Director of St. Anthony's Children's Home in Kingston, Jamaica.

Pearl was a dedicated parishioner of St Lawrence R.C. Church for 50 years, a member of the Women of St. Lawrence, and Choir. She also served as a Eucharistic Minister for St Vincent's Hospital.

Pearl is survived by her three loving children, Kathleen Coxe and her husband David of Vienna, VA, Carol Haines and her husband Fred of Stratford, CT, and Jeffrey Walsh and his wife Mary of Hopkinton, MA; five cherished granddaughters, Aimee Chase and her husband Jason, Eileen & Kara Coxe, and Alison & Kathryn Walsh, as well as her two adored great-grandchildren, Austin and Morgan Chase, and many nieces and nephews. Her five siblings, Gilda Buonadonna, Samuel, William, Rex, and Louis Mongeluzzo predeceased her. The family would like to thank her primary care physician, Dr. John Farens of Shelton, and all the caregivers at Mozaic Senior Living, Bridges of Trumbull, and Euro Care for their wonderful care and kindness.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, May 20, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Lawrence Church, 505 Shelton Ave., Shelton, CT. Interment will follow the mass at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Sunday from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
