Obituary of Maryann Ramik

Maryann Lanese Ramik, age 87 of Trumbull, beloved wife of Dr. Richard J. Ramik passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Vitas Hospice in Waterbury.  Born in Bridgeport on February 26, 1937, she was a daughter of the late Michael A. Lanese and Anna Marrone Lanese.

Maryann had worked as a secretary for Harvey Hubbell, Inc. but her greatest joy was providing dedicated love and care to her family.  She will be remembered for her beautifully written notes, cards and letters to whoever touched her heart and there were many! Maryann also had quick witty sense of humor that made her fun to be around.

In addition to her husband of 65 years, survivors include her beloved children, Lynne Dedo and her husband Joseph, Susan Sarni and her husband Alex and her son Timothy Ramik, her brother Richard M. Lanese Sr. and his wife Bonnie.   The grandchildren that she adored, Alex and his fiancé Becca, Isabella and Vivianna.   Maryann cherished all of her wonderful nieces, nephews and cousins.  In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother Nicholas V. Lanese.

Relatives and friends can meet directly at 11:00 am on Friday, May 17, 2024 in St. Catherine of Siena Church, 200 Shelton Rd., Trumbull.  Calling hours have been omitted at Maryann’s request.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 200 Vesey St., 28th Floor, New York, NY 10281, www2.jdrf.org. A charity very close to Maryann’s heart ever since her daughter Susan was diagnosed at the age of 9.
