Obituary of Paul Goncalves

Paul Goncalves, age 57, of Fairfield, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Bridgeport on April 24, 1966, he was a son of the late Joaquim and Ana Mendes Goncalves. He member of the Laborers Local 665 for over 30 years and worked for many area construction companies, including FGB and Complete Construction.

Paul was a simple man who enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. He loved cooking for his family, especially breakfast and his famous pork chops. He was a dedicated father, grandfather, brother, uncle and companion. He treasured time spent with his family; whether at family parties or summers at Strawberry Park. But he was at his best when his grandchildren were by his side and his smile would light up the room. The unconditional love he gave and the memories they created will forever live in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his two loving daughters, Jessica Ann Goncalves and Brittany Lynn Silva and her husband Antonio, six cherished grandchildren, Oliviana, Noah, Ariana, Amelia, Jeremiah and Isabela, his devoted companion, Maria Alves, loving brother, Jack Goncalves and his wife Joanna, as well as several nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, David Goncalves and Jose Goncalves.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, April 1, 2024 at 11:00 am in St. Patrick's Church, 851 North Ave., Bridgeport. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Monday from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
