Obituary of Kathleen M. Pivovar

Kathleen (Kathy) Pivovar passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at the age of 75. She was the beloved wife to Stuart Pivovar. Born in Bridgeport on July 10, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Helen Lanese.

A graduate of Bassick High School, Bridgeport and Claremont Secretarial School, New York, Kathy went on to have a career as a legal secretary for a law firm, then as a teller with the Bridgeport Fire Credit Union. Kathy met Stuart at an 8th grade sock hop and neither of them looked at anyone else since that dance. They were married in Bridgeport at a wedding of 500 guests in 1968. Two years later, the first of Kathy's children was born and she spent many years at home lovingly caring for her three children. Kathy loved spending time with her grandchildren, a good card game, making ceramics, going to casinos, baking, and especially loved Christmas. She was a dedicated wife, mother, and friend who was always ready to listen and make you laugh.

In addition to her beloved husband Stuart, survivors include her three loving children, her daughter Nikki Pivovar, her daughter Renee Molnar and her husband Mark, and her son, Scott Pivovar as well as her six granddaughters, Sophia, Isabella, Charlotte, and Eva Molnar and Olivia and Aliette Pivovar, and her brother, Thomas Lanese. She is preceded in death by her two brothers, Robert Lanese and Bruce Lanese. She will be greatly missed by her brother-in-law John Pivovar and sister-in-law Dee Pivovar, as well as many nieces and nephews. Kathy and her joy of Christmas, her love for her husband and her family and for life will be missed by all.
