Obituary of Clement La Russa Sr.

Clement La Russa, Sr., age 82, of Stratford, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Linda Rose (Mannino) La Russa. Born in Scranton, PA on August 28, 1941, he was a son of the late John and Gladys (Barber) La Russo.

After graduating from Central High School, Clement joined the United States Air Force and proudly served his Country. He later went on to work at Sikorsky Aircraft and after 28 years of dedicated service he retired in 2006. During his tenure he was a Lead Man on the line that built the Blackhawk Helicopters and was known as Chief to everyone that worked with him. He enjoyed watching ladies figure skating and was an avid fan of UCONN women's basketball but his greatest joy came from spending time with family. He was a devoted husband, loving father and adored grandfather and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include three loving children, Clement La Russa Jr. and his wife Barbara, Andrew John La Russa, a daughter, Michelle Haydu-Rivera and her companion Ken (aka Ben), five cherished grandchildren, Amanda Haydu, Nathaniel Haydu, Emilie Silverman, Alexandrea Rivera and Jayden Rivera and brother, John La Russo, Jr. and his wife Audrey.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Mark Church, 500 Wigwam Lane, Stratford.
