Obituary of Frederick O'Hara Johnson

Frederick O’Hara Johnson, age 76, of Trumbull passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 19, 2023 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Jean Marie (Orzehoski) Johnson for 53 years. Born in Bridgeport on June 29, 1947 he was the son of the late Frederick C. and Frances (O’Hara) Johnson. A graduate of Warren Harding High School, Mr. Johnson then proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era, serving at the American Embassy in London. After he served, he worked at SNET and later SPRINT as a telecommunications specialist. He was a longtime member of both the Gaelic-American Club of Fairfield and Port 5 of Bridgeport, where he built many lasting friendships over the years. He was an avid Cowboy and Husky fan. He was a beer connoisseur and enjoyed partaking in the sampling of beers with others that shared similar interests. A loving and devoted husband, father, brother, uncle and friend of many. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his beloved wife Jean Marie, other survivors include his loving daughter, Dana Johnson, his sister, Arlene Knebel of Warner Robins, GA, his nephew and godson, David Knebel and nieces, Kathi and Kelly. He was predeceased by his sisters, Ceil Johnson and Carliss Fredella.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 23, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Stephen Church, 6948 Main St., Trumbull. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Friends may greet the family on Monday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
