Obituary of Constance Joan Leonetti

Constance Joan (Verzaro) Leonetti, age 89 of Orange and formerly of Bridgeport, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at Orange Health Care Center, Orange. She was the beloved wife of the late Stephen A. Leonetti for 70 years. Born in Bridgeport on May 23, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Ann (Comparato) Verzaro. A woman of great faith, Constance gained her comfort and strength by studying the Bible, teaching and reading scripture. She loved her husband Stephen and was most happy when surrounded by her family. She had a devotion to her family that superseded all else. She always put the needs of others before her own, whether that involved cooking for, tending to, or supporting. She was a loving, daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend of many. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her loving children, Michael Leonetti and his wife Kim of Southbury, Stephen Leonetti and his wife Carol of Old Lyme, Peter Leonetti and his wife Darlene of Cheshire and Lisa Aprea and her husband Nicholas of Shelton, her cherished grandchildren, Elizabeth, Erica, Stephen, Adam, Michael, Gregory, Allison and Jeremy, her adored great grandchildren, Brendon, Jameson, Isabella, Louis, Max, Reagan and Harper, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her beloved husband, Stephen, she was also predeceased by her sister, Phyllis Costanza.   

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in Holy Infant Church, 450 Racebrook Rd., Orange. Interment celebrating the lives of both Constance and Stephen will follow in the Chapel Mausoleum of Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport.
