Obituary of Mary L. Provenzano

Mary Louise (Tilt) Provenzano, age 87, formerly of Trumbull and Monroe, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 25, 2023, at Lord Chamberlain Health and Rehabilitation, Stratford. Born in Norwalk on November 10, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Carrie (Boreum) Tilt. Mrs. Provenzano had worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at St. Joseph Manor in Trumbull before her retirement with over 20 years of dedicated service. She had lived at Fairway Acres in Monroe for many years, where she built numerous friendships and served as Commissioner of the Monroe Housing Authority for over 10 years. Mary was the true definition of a social butterfly and greatly enjoyed cooking for friends and family. She enjoyed being around others and actively participated in many crafting clubs with those who shared similar interests. She also enjoyed traveling with her sister. However, her greatest enjoyment was found in the time she spent surrounded by her loving family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her loving children, Theresa DeCesare and her husband Vincent of Oxford, Donna DeMayo and her husband James of East Haven, Kathy Girardi and her husband Mark of North Haven, Mary Lou McClure and her husband Ronald of Wallingford, John Provenzano and his wife Kathy of Milford, Stephen Provenzano of Shelton, David Provenzano and his wife Rose of Naugatuck and “adopted son”, Mark Provenzano, and his wife Sue of Trumbull, her cherished grandchildren, Michael DeCesare and his wife Afshan, Nicholas DeCesare and his wife Rebecca, Anthony DeCesare and his wife Lyndsay, Michelle Padillo and her husband Pablo, Jillian Girardi, Mark Girardi and his wife Olivia, Kelly Kerrigan, Keith Kerrigan and his wife Charity, John Provenzano, Jr. and his wife Sarah, Nicole Sawicki and her husband Greg, David Provenzano, Jr., Luke Provenzano, Kelly Provenzano and her husband Mitch Stachura and Angelina Provenzano, her sister, Evelyn Perez, and her husband Roger of Shelton, as well as many adored great and great, great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Frost Tilt, and his wife Carol.

All funeral services and burial were held privately for the immediate family.
