Obituary of Kathleen Taylor-Ledford
Kathleen Taylor-Ledford, age 63, of Stratford, beloved wife of James Ledford, passed away unexpectedly on September 23, 2023. Born and raised in Bridgeport, she was a daughter of the late Frederick LaPrise Jr. and Carol Mullane LaPrise.
Family was everything to Kathy. She was a devoted mother and loved spending time with her boys. She recently became a Gigi and her granddaughter Layne was her world. Kathy loved to travel and enjoy new places and adventures; she recently got back from a cruise to Canada. She enjoyed a vibrant social life and could often be found playing cards with friends and spending time at the Baldwin Center. She enjoyed her visits to the casino and annual family vacations to the beach at Misquamicut. Her rescue cats Molly and Holly held a special place in her heart.
In addition to her parents, Kathy was predeceased by her son Travis Taylor and her sister Linda LaPrise.
In addition to her loving husband, she is survived by her two sons, Jordan Ellison and his wife Kate and Kyle Taylor, her beloved granddaughter, Layne, her brother, Michael LaPrise his wife Alice, her brother-in-law Michael Mavrides and his wife Judy and her nephew and niece Zachary and Cassie LaPrise. She will be missed by her childhood friends Lisa Barriga and Lorraine Ryan and countless other loved ones.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, September 28, 2023 at 10:30 am directly in St. James Church, 2110 Main Street, Stratford, Interment will follow in Mountain Grove Cemetery of Easton. Friends may call on Wednesday, September 27th from 4:00 -7:00 pm at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
