Obituary of Maria G. Justo

Maria G. Justo

The world lost a beloved and fantastic lady, Maria Geltrude Justo, on July 4, 2023. Maria was born in the Bronx, NY on January 27, 1952 and grew up in Yonkers. She graduated from Sacred Heart High School and Westchester Community College. She loved music and dancing and met Emil at the Parkway Casino Dance Hall in New York on July 9, 1971. They are married for 47 years. She was known to spontaneously jump up and dance wherever and whenever she heard music, in particular 60s, 70s or 80s music. Truly a lovely woman, whose beauty emanated from within. Her tenacious commitment to and love for her family were a hallmark of hers and oh yes she liked watching Hallmark movies and she took pride in keeping her house meticulously clean.

Maria is survived by her husband, Emil, her daughter, Danielle, and her husband Al, her son Emil and his wife, Heather, and her son Michael. She took great pride in raising her children; her sacrifice and love helped fueled their success. An excellent cook, she especially loved feeding them, making the best Italian meatballs. She adored her five grandchildren, Trevor, Hayley-Mae, Sarah, Luca and Siena Rose and she often showed up with an onesie and a toy whenever a baby was born or had a birthday. She watched and cared for her grandchildren regularly. She loved children, and caring for them made her happy as evidenced by the many years she worked as a nursery school teacher and assistant teacher in the school system. She guided handicapped children through the learning experience with unsurpassed compassion. She was predeceased by her wonderful parents Lawrence and Italia Fraulo. She is also survived by her brother, Frank and his wife April and her sister, Luisa, who she called her little mouse, and her husband John and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She never missed their birthday parties, weddings or showers.

Heaven has gained an angel.
