Obituary of Patrick J. Appleby

Patrick J. Appleby, age 57, of Tamarac, FL and Trumbull, CT passed away suddenly on Sunday, June 18, 2023. He was the beloved husband of the late Caroline (Sheldon) Appleby. Born in Bridgeport on December 4, 1965 he was a son of Joseph T. “Skip” and Beverly A. (Medvegy) Appleby, Jr. of Trumbull. Pat was a 30-year veteran in the trucking industry. He was a hard worker, spending countless hours on the road, and also a people person, making friends wherever his travels took him. His greatest enjoyment however was found in the time he spent surrounded by his family and friends. His frequent trips to the casino with his parents will be a treasured memory everyone will enjoy. Pat brought so much fun and happiness to his family and all those around him. He loved his brothers and definitely his parents. He couldn’t wait to see what was next to be done for his mom and dad.

In addition to his beloved parents, Skip and Bev, other survivors include his children, Patrick J. Appleby, Jr. of FL and Kaylinn Appleby of OH, a grandson, Mason Appleby of FL, his loving brothers, Michael Appleby and his wife Yella of Bellevue, WA, Russell Appleby of Shelton and partner Lynne Leach and Mark Appleby and his wife Sondra of Tamarac, FL, his best friend and coworker, Eddie Smith of Stratford, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Friends may greet the family on Thursday, June 22, 2023 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. A prayer service will be held at 6:30 p.m. followed with shared words of remembrance. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
