Obituary of Grace M. Stamos

Grace M. (Colello) Stamos, age 93, of Trumbull passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 3, 2023. She was the beloved wife of the late John Stamos for 70 years. Born in Bridgeport on August 26, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Mario and Concetta (Antonelli) Colello. In her early life, Grace was fortunate and proud to travel with her husband, John, as he served in the military, and they grew their family. Grace was a lifelong caregiver, which was something that always brought her great pride and happiness. She worked for many years as a nurse’s aide at both the St. Joseph Manor and Jewish Senior Services. Grace was also a woman of great faith and felt deeply connected to angels, and many who met Grace would agree that she was an angel herself. She had a way of making everyone feel heard and loved and constantly put others before herself. Her generous spirit touched the hearts of many and could be seen in her greatest desire to win the lottery just so she could give all the money away to her family. Grace cultivated friends wherever she went through her love of conversation and storytelling. Whether it was “up at the mall” shopping for a trendy new outfit or gambling at the casino, Grace provided a listening ear and connected with the people around her. Grace’s greatest enjoyment however was found in the time she spent surrounded by her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren, whom she adored. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her three loving sons, John M. Stamos, Stephen C. Stamos and his wife Julie, and Chris J. Stamos and his wife Elizabeth; her cherished grandchildren Jessica Ramirez and her husband Nate, Kirk Stamos and his wife Amy, Kali Bronski and her husband Rob, Jake Stamos, and Connor Stamos; and her adored great grandchildren Bennett and Nora Ramirez, Sloan and Beck Stamos, and Trey Bronski. Grace is also survived by her sisters, Angie Wakeling and her husband Art, and Teresa Schneider, as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her loving husband John, she was also predeceased by her sister, Anna Takacs and her brothers, Jerry and Mario Colello.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Stephen Church, 6948 Main St., Trumbull. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.
