Obituary of Angelo Magliocco
Angelo Magliocco, age 87, of Trumbull, beloved husband of Lidia Mizzoni Magliocco, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 1, 2023, in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family. Born on March 13, 1936 in Torrice, Province of Frosinone, Italy, Angelo was the son of the late Sebastiano and Natalina Testani Magliocco. Adoringly known by all as "Nonno", he was always kind and gentle to those around him.
In Italy, Angelo enjoyed working on the family farm, spending time with his friends and family, and serving as a cook for the Italian army. In 1959, Angelo met the love of his life, Lidia. They were married for 61 years. While Angelo loved his home country, he courageously moved to the United States to create a better life for his family. Despite not knowing any English, Angelo was determined to provide for his family and made countless sacrifices by working for many area construction companies as a member of the Laborers Local 665.
In his free time, Angelo enjoyed making wine and tomato sauce, gardening, and playing Italian card games, but above all, he loved being with his family. Given the name the "King" by his grandchildren and passed on to his great grandchildren, Angelo was the patriarch of the family, and the seat at the head of the family table will forever be his. Angelo's gentle, peaceful disposition will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
In addition to his dedicated wife Lidia, survivors include three loving children, Lucy Marini and her husband John, Mary Sekerak and her husband Dr. Richard Jr., all of Monroe, and Angelo Magliocco and his wife Jenifer of Trumbull, seven cherished grandchildren, Krystyna and her husband Anthony Baumann, Dr. Erika and her husband Dr. Taylor Wachs, Danielle Sekerak, Esq., Dr. Richard Sekerak III, Tiffany Marini and her boyfriend Chase Godfrey, Ayden and Adisyn Magliocco, two adored great grandchildren, Lucas and Isabella Baumann, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a grandson, Angelo James Magliocco, and two brothers and their wives, Quirino Magliocco and his wife Fernanda and Cesare Magliocco and his wife Bettina.
The family would like to thank Stratford VNA and Masonicare Hospice for the wonderful medical care they provided to Angelo.
