Obituary of Harold L. Schumacher
Harold L. Schumacher, age 92, of Trumbull, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 13, 2023 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of 69 years to Anita (Imerito) Schumacher. Born in Jersey City, NJ on December 20, 1930, he was the son of the late Louis and Katherine (Heuermann) Schumacher and was a longtime resident of Trumbull.
Harold graduated from The Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn with a degree in Electrical Engineering in June of 1953. In August 1953 he joined the United States Navy during the Korean War. He was in the Amphibious Construction Battalion One in Coronado, CA and then served one year in Japan. After moving to Connecticut with his family in 1971, he worked at Microphase Corporation of Norwalk as an electrical engineer and retired after over 20 years of dedicated service. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a longtime member of both the Great Hill Fish and Game and the Newtown Fish and Game Clubs.
In addition to his wife Anita, survivors include his three loving children, Joanne Schumacher, Steven Schumacher and his wife Karen and Richard Schumacher and his wife Caroline and two cherished grandchildren, Megan and James Schumacher as well as many nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will take place on Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at 12:00 noon in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may greet the family on Monday, April 17, 2023 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m.
