Obituary of Olga Quan Cuevas

Olga Quan Cuevas, age 92, of Trumbull, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 26, 2023 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Dr. Pablo J Cuevas. Born in Tegucigalpa, Honduras on April 8, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Alberto and Concepcion (Rodriguez) Quan. She was a longtime resident of Florida before moving to Alaska and then to Trumbull.

Mrs. Cuevas graduated with a master's degree in social studies from the University of Puerto Rico. She was then Associate Dean at the College of Education in Tegucigalpa, Honduras for several years. She moved to the United States in 1963 and devoted herself to her family and raising her four children. She was the office manager at her husband's Gastroenterology practice until they retired in 1995 and moved to Sarasota, Florida.

Mrs. Cuevas was an avid reader and her hobbies included crochet, embroidery, cross-stitch, and knitting. She loved spending time with her family.

Survivors include her four loving children, Yvonne Cuevas Hakes and her husband Peter Hakes, Dr. Vivian Cuevas and her husband Dr. Kurt Steger, Dr. Pablo J. Cuevas, and his wife Kathleen (Geiger) Cuevas, Dr. Ricardo Cuevas and his wife Richarda (Yntema) Cuevas. Her surviving siblings are Amparo Quan, Ricardo Quan, Martin Quan, Jose Quan, and Rosa Quan. Six cherished grandchildren, Pablo J. Cuevas, Sydney A. Steger, Taylor O. Steger, Olivia C. Cuevas, Elizabeth K. Cuevas, Eva M. Cuevas, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, and siblings Samuel Quan, Alberto Quan, Cristina Quan, Lucila Quan, Alfredo Quan.

Friends are invited to meet directly at St. Theresa Church, 5301 Main St. Trumbull on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be private. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are in care of The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
