Obituary of Margaret Ann Milne

Margaret Ann (Libity) Milne, age 96, of Shelton CT, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late John J. Milne. Born in Brooklyn, NY on April 3, 1926 she was the daughter of the late George F. and Anna (Regan) Libity. She grew up in Brooklyn, NY, but moved to Bellerose NY where she and Jack spent 42 years raising their family before moving to Milford, CT. She and Jack were snowbirds, spending the 23 winters in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, until she moved to Brightview Senior Living in Shelton, CT in 2019. Margie was a social butterfly and established a close-knit group of friends wherever her travels took her. She enjoyed the thrill of finding a bargain on frequent trips to the Christmas Tree Shop. But her greatest enjoyment was found in the time she spent surrounded by her family. A loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend of many, she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her loving children, Nancy Milne Borkes and her husband Tom of Orlando, FL, John T. Milne and his wife Adele of Summerville, SC, and Mary Ellen Lemay and her husband Art of Trumbull, CT; her cherished grandchildren, Kristy Sproul and her husband Kevin, Megan Borkes and her husband Jason, and Alex Lemay; and her adored great grandchildren, Kyle and Katie Sproul.

A celebration of Margaret's life and Mass of Christian Burial will be announced and held at a later date. Interment alongside her late husband will be held privately in Calverton National Cemetery on Long Island, NY. Arrangements have been entrusted to Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, Trumbull CT.
