Obituary of Robin Louise May Gonzalez

Robin Louise May Gonzalez, 42, suddenly and unexpectedly passed away on January 22, 2023. Robin was a lifetime resident of Stratford, CT. The loving wife of Jay Gonzalez, devoted mother to sons Jeremy (13) and Joshua (7), daughter to Gretchen May of Stratford and loving sister to her big brother Kevin May, his wife Juliette and daughter Lilyia of Tucson, AZ as well as a sister-in-law Lisa Gonzalez.

Robin was a graduate of Charter Oak University where she earned her Bachelors Degree and The University of Bridgeport where she earned a Masters in Education. She was also a graduate of Stratford High School in the Graduating Class of 1999 and attended school in Stratford throughout her formative years.

Robin was widely known in the community for her hard work and dedication to her career in teaching. She taught Kindergarten at Dunbar Elementary School in Bridgeport for several years, as well as working in the Stratford School System in various roles including as a substitute teacher. She was much loved by all the little students she taught during her career as an educator, and was a bright light to everyone she met, students, co-workers, friends and family alike.

Robin had a great deal of love and care for others, she was generous with her time for anyone who asked for help or advice. She was also outspoken advocate for any cause she involved herself in.

Robin she is now with her dear father, Reinhard May, who left us April 10th, 2021, and will dearly missed by her friends and family.

A funeral service will take place on Monday, January 30, 2023 at 12:00 noon in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. Interment will follow in Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport. Friends may greet the family on Monday morning from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.  

She will be sorely missed by all whose life she touched, but her spirit will not be extinguished and her example lives on in our hearts and minds. With love love of education in mind, and in support of her young family, in lieu of flowers, a GoFundMe campaign (The Robin May Gonzalez Memorial College Fund) has been setup to collect contributions which will be used to establish individual college savings funds for her sons Joshua and Jeremy.
