Obituary of Barbara Caserta
Barbara C. Caserta, 69, of Trumbull, Connecticut passed away peacefully at Branford Hospice surrounded by her loving family on January 12, 2023. Barb was born on December 15, 1953 in New Haven, Connecticut to the late Ted and Agnes Chatfield of West Haven. She is survived by her husband, Anthony Caserta of Trumbull, her sister, Linda Scranton (Fred) of Guilford, her nieces, Jill Scranton of Weymouth, MA, Liz Thurston of Ellicott City, MD, nephews, Anthony Caserta of Derby, Andrew Caserta of Stratford, and Corey Caserta of Milford, and many grand nieces and nephews.
Barb graduated from the University of New Haven with a degree in electrical engineering while working for the Yale Alumni Association. Upon graduation, she worked as an engineer at Sikorsky until she became a full professor of mathematics at Naugatuck Community College. After retirement, she devoted her time to cruising with her loving husband of over 40 years and enjoying endless pasta, desserts and special occasions with extended family and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, January 19, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. directly in St. Margaret Shrine, 2523 Park Ave., Bridgeport. Interment will follow in Nichols Village Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may greet the family on Wednesday from 1:00 to 3:00 and 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
