Obituary of Dipika R. Desai

It is with great sorrow and grief that we announce the passing of beloved wife, mother, grandmother, friend and colleague, Mrs. Dipika R. Desai.

Dipika R. Desai, age 68, of Shelton passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at her home. She was the beloved wife of Ramesh Desai. Born in Ahmedabad, India on June 6, 1954. She was the daughter of Kantaben (Parikh) Desai and the late Kanchanlal Desai. She came to the United States in 1979 and retired from People’s Bank after 30 plus years of dedicated service. In addition to her beloved husband, Ramesh of 43 years, she is survived by her loving son, Dr. Nihar R. Desai and his wife Dr. Vrunda Desai, her cherished grandchildren, Rohan, Keshav, Sapan and Arya Laxmi, her sister, Malini and her brother-in-law Madhubhai, her late brother Bharat, his wife Kokilaben and nephew Mohit.

Dipika had a love of singing bhajan, garba-raas, traveling, and cooking. She was active in the Greater Bridgeport bhajan group and at our temples in New Haven, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, friends, and grandchildren. She brought much joy to everyone’s life around her with her selfless, caring, and compassionate nature.  

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull, CT. Interment services will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Shree Nathji Haveli in New Haven, CT.
