Obituary of Preciosa Da Costa

Preciosa Da Costa, age 90, of Derby, beloved wife of the late Domingos Alves Carvalho, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 21, 2022. Born in Montalegre, Portugal on October 22, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Joao Costa and Lucinda Fernandes. Along with her family, the immigrated to the United States in 1976 and settled in Bridgeport. She was a very hard-working woman, who was dedicated to the care and love of her family. Preciosa truly loved when her family was together creating memories. Her smile would light up the room when her grandchildren and great grandchildren were by her side. The unconditional love she gave and the values she taught will forever live in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Survivors include her five loving children, Umbelina Correia and her husband Fernando, Jose C. Carvalho and his wife Ana, Antonio Carvalho and his wife Fatima, Domingos Carvalho and his wife Ines and Rosa Vilanova, 11 cherished grandchildren, 14 adored great grandchildren, two brothers, Antonio Costa and Joao Costa and his wife Teresa, as well as several nieces and nephews and relatives in Portugal. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at 9:00 a.m. directly in Our Lady of Fatima Church, 429 Huntington Rd., Bridgeport. Interment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, Stratford. Relatives and friends can greet the family on Friday from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
