Obituary of Richard M. Vitale Sr.

Richard M. Vitale Sr., 87, of Stratford passed away Saturday, November 12th, 2022. He was the beloved husband of the late Elaine. A. Vitale.

Richard was born July 1, 1935, the only child of Herman and Antoinette Aurelio Vitale. Rich was an Old-World Craftsmen, blessed with a creative mind and was positioned to learn the trade of fine woodworking from those who came before him. He could build anything and often did the impossible, much to the delight of those around him. Richard started working at 12 years old and never really retired. In addition to his passion for building and craftsmanship, Richard was a sharp dresser. He was a true clothing aficionado and loved shopping at Mr. Jerrys Clothing Shop. He was proud of his Italian heritage. Above all else, the most important thing in his life were his grandchildren.

He is survived by his sons Darryl Vitale, Rich Vitale Jr. and his wife Lisa; and his grandchildren Gino and Miranda Vitale and Elaine A. and Marisa M. Vitale; his sister-in-law Pat Pray; his brother-in-law Leo Pray; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

His family will receive relatives and friends at Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull on Monday, November 21, 2022 from 9:30 am till 10:30 am. when the funeral cortege will proceed to St. Theresa Church, 5301 Main St., Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.
