Obituary of Katherine M. Jackson

Katherine M. (Johnson) Jackson, age 82, of Stratford passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at Bridgeport Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Francis E. Jackson. Born in Bridgeport on May 24, 1940, she was a daughter of the late Sydney and Katherine (Lynch) Johnson. Katherine had been employed by St. Vincent’s Medical Center where she worked as a file clerk in the medical records department for many years before her retirement. Kathy enjoyed her coffee, M&Ms and trips to Atlantic City.  She also liked to paint, do crafts and decorate her house for the holidays, especially her elaborate ornament filled Christmas tree. Most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren, from fun and creative play when they were young to supporting their activities as they got older.

Survivors include her loving children, Jacquelyn Colbree and her husband David of Stratford and Edward Jackson and his wife Lori of Monroe, her cherished grandchildren, Sean Colbree and Ian and Dylan Jackson, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister and brother in law, Ellen and George Haaga.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, November 10, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Grace Church, Stratford. Interment will follow in Lawncroft Cemetery, Fairfield. Friends may greet the family beginning at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday morning at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, www.alz.org/ct
