Obituary of Helen C. Lake

Lifelong Bridgeport Resident Helen Garcia Lake, age 80, of Bridgeport, a retired bookkeeper for St. Vincent Medical Center with over 25 years of service, died on Monday, November 27, 2006 at Connecticut Hospice, Branford. Born in Bridgeport on November 12, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Manuel and Carmen Sidoti Garcia. Mrs. Lake was a lifelong resident of Bridgeport. After her retirement, she volunteered for 10 years at St. Vincent Medical Center and also for Swim Across the Sound. She was also a member of the St. Vincents Retirees Club. Survivors include her loving son, Damian Lake and his wife, Christina of Orange, devoted cousin, Mary Zayhowski of Troy, New York as well as several additional cousins, and devoted friend, Ann Tzanavaris of Bridgeport. She was pre-deceased by an infant daughter, Dawn Alicia and a brother, Manuel Garcia, Jr. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Friday, December 1, 2006 at 9:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in St. Augustine Cathedral, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Thursday from 4 to 8 pm.
