Obituary of Anne Marie Lagor

Anne Marie Scianna Lagor, age 56, of Bridgeport, died on Friday, July 23, 2004 at home with her family by her side, after a two year courageous battle with lymphoma. Born in Bridgeport and raised in Trumbull, she was a daughter of Lena Nucera Scianna of Trumbull and the late Anthony Scianna. Anne was a devoted special education teacher and started her career at the special needs Center of Trumbull and was currently working as a learning disability teacher for the last two years at Waltersville Learning and Enrichment Center in Bridgeport. She was a member of the New England Re-evaulation Committee for reading programs and ran the Jump Rope for Hearts Program for the last six years at St. Andrew Church. She also enjoyed cooking and baking.

In addition to her mother, survivors include her loving husband of 29 years, Lee C. Lagor, a daughter, Leanne Lagor Searles and her husband Mark of Derby and a son Matthew C. Lagor of Bridgeport, two sisters, Lucy Vecchiarelli and her husband Peter of Bridgeport and Mary Lisi and her husband Albert of Monroe, three brothers, Anthony Scianna and his wife Louise of Nottingham , NH, Richard Scianna and his wife Deborah of Oxford and Joseph Scianna and his wife Melissa of Bridger, MT, sister in law Christine Scianna of Scotsdale, AZ, five godchildren, four great nieces and nephews and many additional nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Francis Scianna. 

Friends are invited to meet directly in St. Andrew Church, 435 Anton Street, Bridgeport, on Tuesday, July 27, 2004 at 10 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call on Monday 4 - 8 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
