Obituary of Barbara S. LaConte

Resident of Trumbull Barbara Bobbie Szilagyi LaConte, age 71, of Trumbull, beloved wife of Lawrence J. LaConte Sr., died peacefully with her family by her side on Thursday, July 30, 2009 in Bridgeport Hospital after a long and courageous battle. Born in New York City on September 17, 1937, she was a daughter of the late Alexander and Barbara Kliscu Szilagyi. Along with her husband they operated Contys at Seaside Park for many years. She also worked at Szilagyis Bar and Grill of Stratford and was formerly an executive secretary at Avco. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She had a quick wit and sense of humor and everyone who knew her loved her, she will be sadly missed. She was pre-deceased by her beloved in-laws, Angelo and Clara LaConte. In addition to her devoted husband, Larry, survivors include four loving children, Lisa LaConte Fronsaglia and her husband Benigno of Shelton, Lori LaConte of Trumbull, Leann LaConte and her companion Richard Rua of Milford and Lawrence J. LaConte Jr. and his wife Megan of Bridgeport, five cherished grandchildren, Angelo Pickering, Gabriela and Alexis Michael Diaz and Natalia and Alexa Fronsaglia, two sisters, Elvira McLachlan of Charlotte, NC and Katherine Fletcher and her husband Michael of Bridgeport as well as several nieces and nephews. The LaConte family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Harrold and the staff of Oncology Associates of Bridgeport, the Bridgeport Hospital 7th Floor Oncology Staff and Dr. Alfano-Kostenko. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Monday, August 3, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in St. Catherine of Siena Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.
